Bathroom Renovations & Aluminium Door Replacement
“We would like to say thank you to Dragon Reforms for an excellent job renovating our two bathrooms and replacing our aluminium doors.”
uPVC · Aluminium · Sliding Doors · Security Doors · Shutters
New windows and doors, replacement glass, security doors, terrace glazing and shutters for villas, fincas, town houses and apartments across the north Costa Blanca, fitted and guaranteed by a local renovation firm working here since 1999.
Windows and doors do more work on the Costa Blanca than in most of Europe. They face strong sun for much of the year, they take salt air near the coast, they let in traffic and bar noise in the busier resorts, and in a holiday home they are the first line of security for a property that may be empty for months. A frame that looks fine on the day it is fitted can be sticking, leaking or letting in noise a few summers later if the wrong product or the wrong fitting method was used.
Dragon Reforms supplies and fits windows and doors as part of the same renovation work we do throughout the area, so we are used to openings in every kind of building: concrete-frame apartment blocks, 1970s and 1980s villas, newer urbanisation houses, old town houses with thick walls and arched openings, and fincas with their own particular quirks. We measure on site, tell you what suits the building, and fit it ourselves.
Many of our customers are UK, Scandinavian, Dutch and German owners who live here part of the year or are managing a project from abroad. We keep communication clear, agree the scope in writing, and make the job easy to follow without you needing to be on site every day.
The quotation is free. The work is guaranteed, with the scope of the guarantee set out in the quotation, and Dragon Reforms is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 8pm.
What is included
Every job starts with measurements taken on site and a written quotation, and ends with a finished, tidy opening that opens, closes and seals as it should.

Why it matters here
Sun, salt, noise and empty houses all land on the same few openings.
Summer sun on south and west-facing glass is the most obvious pressure. Frames expand and contract daily, cheap seals dry out, and large glazed areas can turn a living room into an oven in the afternoon. The choice of glass, frame colour and a well-fitted shutter or blind makes a real difference to how comfortable the room is, and we keep our advice general and honest rather than quoting figures we cannot stand behind.
Near the sea, salt in the air is hard on metalwork. Aluminium is widely used here and works well when the finish and fittings are right, but cheap hinges, screws and handles can corrode and stain. Inland, the issues are different: older villas often have timber or thin steel frames that have warped or rusted over decades.
Then there are the buildings themselves. Holiday apartments in busy resort areas need a calm bedroom more than anything, and a house that is left empty for part of the year needs doors and windows that lock firmly and look secure from the street. Every one of these points is dealt with at the fitting stage, which is why the job is worth doing properly the first time.
uPVC and aluminium
Both are good choices. They suit different buildings and different budgets.
uPVC frames are popular with owners who want a clean white finish, a good seal and low upkeep. They tend to suit apartments and villas where the openings are standard sizes and the owner wants something that needs little more than a wipe-down. In hot, direct sun, frame colour and quality matter, so we talk through the options before you commit.
Aluminium has long been the usual choice across Spain. It is slim, strong and suits large openings, sliding doors and terrace glazing very well. Modern aluminium frames with thermal breaks are a different product from the thin single-glazed sections found in older homes, and we explain which type we are quoting for.
There is no single right answer. A seafront apartment, a hillside villa and a village house each have their own demands, and the best choice often depends on the size of the opening, the exposure and how the owner uses the room. We will tell you what we would fit in your own home and why.
Sliding, bi-fold and patio doors
The openings that connect the house to the terrace.
Life here is lived outdoors, so the door between the living room and the terrace is probably the most used in the house. Sliding doors save space and suit wide openings. Bi-fold doors open a whole wall to the terrace. Hinged patio and French doors give a more traditional look and a wide, simple opening.
Whichever style you choose, the details decide how it lives day to day: the track and rollers on a sliding door, the quality of the hinges and locking on a bi-fold, and the threshold that keeps rain and dust out. A door that rubs, jams or lets in water at the bottom is nearly always a fitting problem, not just a product problem.
We can replace an existing door in the same opening or alter the opening to take something larger, with the structural and finishing work handled as part of the job. If a wall needs to be modified, we explain what is involved before you agree to anything.

Entrance and security doors
A door that is solid, locks properly and makes the house look occupied.
A holiday home that stands empty for weeks or months is a concern for any owner. A solid entrance door with proper multi-point locking, a good frame fixing and sensible hardware is one of the best things you can do. It is not about turning the house into a fortress; it is about making it clearly harder to get in than the next one.
Security doors are available in a range of finishes, so a strong door does not have to look industrial. We can match the style of the house, from a modern villa to a traditional front door in an old town house, and we fit it into a frame that is secure in the wall.
Ground-floor windows, terrace doors and side access are often forgotten. When we visit for a front door we usually look at the other openings too, and give you a plain view of anything that looks weak, so you can decide what is worth doing.

Glazing and enclosed terraces
More usable space, a calmer room and a more comfortable house.
Double glazing helps with both heat and noise, and it makes a noticeable difference in rooms facing a busy street or the seafront promenade. Glass can also be replaced without changing the frame when a pane has cracked, misted up or failed, which can be a sensible repair where the frame itself is sound.
Enclosing a terrace or balcony with glazing is a popular way to gain a sunroom, a dining area or a protected space for plants and furniture. It needs thought about ventilation, access and what the community or local rules allow, particularly in apartment buildings, so we advise you to check with your community of owners before starting.
A well-built glazed enclosure stays bright and usable through winter, and with blinds or shutters it can be kept cool in summer. We design and fit it so that it opens where you need it to open and can be cleaned safely.
Shutters and blinds
The simplest way to keep a room cool and private.
Persianas and roller shutters are part of the Spanish way of managing heat: closed in the afternoon, open in the evening. They also add privacy and an extra layer of security when the house is empty. A well-fitted shutter runs smoothly, closes tightly and does not rattle in the wind.
Roller blinds and fly screens deal with glare and insects, and they can be fitted at the same time as the windows so everything lines up. If an existing shutter box is old, leaky or draughty, replacing it with the window is usually neater than patching it.
We can repair stuck or broken shutters, replace straps and slats, and fit new housings. If you are not sure whether a repair is worth doing, we will tell you.
Older houses and special shapes
Not every opening is a standard rectangle, and that is fine.
Older village houses, fincas and some Mediterranean-style villas have arched openings, thick walls and non-standard sizes. Off-the-shelf windows rarely fit these properly, so frames are made to measure, and the shape is often part of the character of the house that owners want to keep.
Fitting into an old wall takes more care. Walls may be out of square, stone or rubble can be uneven, and old lintels or arches need to be respected. We look at the condition of the opening first and agree how it will be made good, so the new frame is fixed to something solid.
The finish matters too. Colour, glazing bars and the way a frame sits in the reveal all affect how the house looks from outside, and we discuss these with you rather than assuming.

Repairs and maintenance
Not everything needs replacing.
Sticking doors, stiff handles, failed seals, broken rollers, misted panes and draughty frames can often be fixed without replacing the whole unit. A repair is usually the better choice if the frame is sound, and we will say so when it is.
Where a window or door has reached the end of its life, we say that clearly too. Patching a frame that is corroded, warped or rotten tends to cost more over time than doing it properly once.
A little maintenance helps in this climate: cleaning tracks, checking drainage slots, rinsing salt from frames near the sea and keeping hinges and locks working. If you manage a rental or holiday let, we can look at your openings and give you a simple list of what needs attention.
Things to check
If you recognise any of these, it is worth having the openings looked at.
If you are unsure whether an opening needs repairing or replacing, send us a few photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Both work well. uPVC suits owners who want a white finish and low upkeep, and aluminium suits large openings, sliding doors and terrace glazing. The best choice depends on the building and the opening, and we will explain what we would fit in your home.
Properly fitted double glazing usually makes a noticeable difference to street and seafront noise, and a good seal around the frame matters as much as the glass. We keep our advice general and do not promise specific results.
Yes. A solid entrance door with multi-point locking, well-fitted frames and shutters on vulnerable openings make a house harder to get into. We can look at all the openings and tell you what is worth doing.
In most cases, yes, although apartment buildings often need permission from the community of owners, and other local rules may apply. We recommend checking this before you commit and we can advise on the practical side.
Both. Sticking doors, failed seals, damaged shutters and broken glass can often be repaired. If the frame is beyond saving we say so rather than patching it.
Yes. Frames can be made to measure for arched and non-standard openings, and we take extra care fitting into older walls. We look at the condition of the opening before we quote.
Not always. Many owners agree the scope with us remotely, leave keys with a trusted contact and receive updates with photos. We will tell you honestly if a visit is needed for a key decision.
