Air Conditioning Altea

Altea’s steep old town and coastal villas call for different thinking. We plan air conditioning around access, appearance and the way each house is built.

The old town of Altea climbs a hillside of narrow lanes, steps and whitewashed houses. Getting equipment to the door can be harder than fitting it, and a visible outdoor unit on a pretty façade is something most owners want to avoid. That makes planning the first part of the job.

Away from the old centre, Altea has villas on the hillsides and close to the coast, many with terraces, flat roofs and good views. There is more room for equipment, but sun, salt air and long summers are all part of the picture.

Dragon Reforms has worked across the north Costa Blanca since 1999. We supply leading brands, install and replace systems, and look after them afterwards. The quotation is free and the work is guaranteed, with the scope set out in the quotation.

Old town houses

Air Conditioning in Altea’s Old Town Houses

Old town houses are often tall and narrow, spread over several floors, with thick walls and small windows. Those walls keep heat out well, which is useful, but they can make pipe runs and wiring a challenge. We look at how the house is arranged before choosing a system.

Because the outdoor unit is the visible part, we consider where it will be seen from, whether on a roof terrace, a rear patio or a service area. Sometimes the best answer is a multi-split with one outdoor unit serving several floors, which keeps clutter on the outside to a minimum.

If the property is subject to rules about appearance, please check what is permitted before we start. We are happy to plan around the answer.

Villas and terraces

Cooling Altea Villas Near the Sea and on the Hillside

Villas here tend to have generous living spaces opening onto terraces, often with a lot of glass. Those rooms catch the afternoon sun, and a unit that is too small will struggle. We size each room on its own merits and may suggest a larger unit for the main room and smaller ones for bedrooms.

Closer to the sea, salt air affects outdoor units, so position and servicing matter. A unit tucked out of the weather but still able to breathe is better than one exposed on a terrace wall.

Heating is worth considering too. A reverse-cycle unit can take the edge off a cool winter evening, and many owners in the area use theirs year-round.

Access and logistics

Getting the Work Done on a Steep Site

On a hillside or in narrow streets, delivery and access are real considerations. We think through how units will arrive, where we can work and how we avoid blocking neighbours, so the job runs smoothly.

Services and repairs follow the same logic. If an existing unit has failed in a hard-to-reach spot, we assess whether it can be repaired where it is or moved to somewhere easier to maintain in future.

Many Altea owners are abroad for part of the year, and we are happy to agree access with a neighbour or manager and report back with photographs once the work is finished.

How it works

How an Air Conditioning Job in Altea Works

We begin by understanding the house: its levels, access, orientation and which rooms matter most. For the old town, that often includes a walk around to decide where the equipment can sit. We then prepare a quotation, which is free, with the units, the work and the price clearly stated.

When you are ready, we agree dates, carry out the installation, commission the system and show you how it works. The work is guaranteed, with the scope set out in the quotation, and the property is left clean.

Questions

Air Conditioning Altea — Common Questions

Can you install air conditioning in an Altea old town house?

In most cases yes. The challenge is usually access and where to put the outdoor unit. We plan this first, and a multi-split can reduce the number of outdoor units.

How do I keep the outdoor unit from spoiling the look of my house?

By choosing the position carefully, such as a roof terrace or rear area, and grouping units together. Check any appearance rules that apply to your property.

Does salt air damage air conditioning near the Altea coast?

It can speed up corrosion on outdoor units if they are neglected. Sensible positioning and regular servicing are the best protection.

Do you service air conditioning in Altea before summer?

Yes. We clean filters, check the indoor and outdoor units, and test cooling and heating so the system is ready when the hot weather arrives.
