Altea climbs a hillside above the sea, and the apartments follow the slope, with steps, narrow streets and views that make a good reform especially worthwhile.
Altea’s old town is a maze of steep lanes with homes and apartments built into the hillside, while lower down there are modern apartments and coastal villas. The two kinds of property call for different approaches.
In the old town, access is the first question. Narrow lanes and stairs mean materials are carried rather than driven, which affects the programme and the way we plan the work. Newer apartments are easier to reach, but they come with community rules of their own.
Dragon Reforms has worked on the north Costa Blanca since 1999. We bring design, building, plumbing, electrics, joinery and painting together, so the flat is renovated as a whole.
Old town
Older buildings have thick walls, uneven floors and odd room shapes, and the plumbing and wiring may have been added in stages. We survey carefully before proposing a plan, because what you find behind the plaster shapes what can be done.
Carrying materials up steps and lanes takes more labour and more planning, and we allow for it in the quotation. Waste is handled the same way, so the neighbours are not left with the mess.
Where the building is shared by a few owners, we recommend a word with them before work begins. Good relations make a long job easier.
Views and terraces
Many Altea apartments are bought for the view, and the terrace is where owners spend their time. Replacing worn tiles, improving drainage, upgrading doors and windows to the terrace and, where the community agrees, glazing part of it can make it useful for more of the year.
Sea air is hard on metalwork and frames, so we choose materials and finishes with that in mind. Terraces on a hillside also take weather from different directions, which affects what we recommend.
Anything that changes the facade should be raised with the community first. We can help you prepare what to show the administrator.
Interiors
Bathrooms in older Altea flats are often small and awkward. A careful layout, a walk-in shower, proper waterproofing and good ventilation make a big difference, and we carry out the plumbing and tiling together.
Floors in older buildings are rarely level, so preparation matters before tiling or laying new flooring. We level and repair the base first, so the finish lasts.
Painting comes last. After plastering repairs and joinery are done, the flat is painted so that the lighter, brighter feel carries throughout.

We begin with a visit, or photos and plans if you are overseas, to understand the flat and its access. A free quotation follows, setting out the scope and the stages.
Throughout the job we coordinate the trades and send photos and updates by phone. We speak English and Spanish, and the work is guaranteed.

Yes. We plan for carrying materials and removing waste by hand where needed, and we allow for it in the quotation.
We can renew floors, drainage, doors and windows, and glaze part of the terrace where the community agrees. Facade changes should be raised with the community first.
Yes. We manage the work, send photos and updates and deal with suppliers and the community in English and Spanish.
Yes, our own team does plumbing, electrics, carpentry, plastering, tiling and painting alongside the main reform.
