Finestrat’s hillside villas look out towards the sea and the Puig Campana, and the best bathrooms there are designed with that view in mind.
Finestrat sits on the slopes below Puig Campana, with villas stepping down towards the coast and Cala de Finestrat. Many of these homes were built to take advantage of the outlook, with large windows and terraces, and the bathrooms sometimes get less attention than the living areas. That can leave a villa with a beautiful main floor and a bathroom that feels a generation behind.
On sloping plots, bathrooms are often set on different levels, which affects drainage and the way pipes are routed. It is worth knowing early where the waste will fall and whether the existing layout can be kept or needs rethinking.

Views
Where a bathroom has a window facing the sea or the hills, the layout should make use of it. A bath positioned to look out, or a shower with glass that lets light through, makes the room feel connected to the landscape rather than closed off from it.
We think about privacy as well as view. Frosted glass, deeper window reveals or a carefully placed screen can keep the openness without exposing the room. These are decisions that are easier to make on a drawing than on site.
Natural light changes how finishes look. Warm limestone and travertine tones suit the light in this part of the coast, and we usually show samples in the room itself before an order is placed.
Details
A solid-looking stone-effect basin on a plain unit gives a bathroom a strong focal point. Large-format porcelain or engineered surfaces can be shaped into a counter with an integrated basin, so one continuous material runs through.
Next to it, a walk-in shower with minimal glass and concealed drainage keeps the lines clean. Recessed niches replace shelves, and a low-profile or level floor makes the shower open and easy to enter.
Light is part of the detail. Soft lighting along the mirror, in a niche or under a floating unit brings out the texture of stone and plaster, and it needs the electrics to be planned before the walls are closed.
Holiday homes
Not every Finestrat owner wants a full redesign. For a holiday property, a sensible refit with durable finishes, reliable fittings and easy cleaning can make a big difference to how the house feels and how well it copes with being empty part of the year.
When a home is closed for weeks at a time, taps, valves and waste traps benefit from being specified for low maintenance. We can advise on choices that cope well with that pattern of use.
If you are away, we manage the job and send updates, so there is no need to be on site every day.
How it works
We visit, measure and discuss the design, noting the views, the levels and the existing pipework. A written quotation follows, and the quotation is free. When the plan is agreed, we fix dates and order materials.
The work runs from strip-out and first-fix plumbing and electrics through waterproofing, tiling and fitting to decoration. Updates reach you by phone and photographs, and the work is guaranteed within the scope in the quotation.

Often, yes. We can reposition a bath or shower to face a window and deal with privacy and light so the view becomes part of the design.
Yes. Large porcelain panels are used on walls, in showers and for countertops. They have few joints and look like natural stone.
We check how the drainage and supplies run before settling the layout, since a hillside property can limit where waste can go.
