Homes in La Nucía are mostly villas and houses on sloping plots, set back from the coast and often with views across the valley. A typical property has a main bathroom, an en-suite or two, and sometimes a guest cloakroom. That quantity matters: owners rarely want to renovate everything at once, and the sensible approach is to plan the whole house and then phase the work.
Because many of these villas were built a few decades ago, bathrooms can show their age in similar ways: a corner bath nobody uses, a shower with a low tray, dated tiles and extraction that no longer works well. Those rooms are good candidates for a rethink, since the space is often there to do something better.

Showers
Where space allows, a walk-in shower is the feature that changes a bathroom most. A generous floor area, concealed drainage and a single glass panel replace a cramped tray and a sliding door. The result is easier to clean and easier to use.
Marble-effect or stone-effect porcelain slabs work well behind a shower. With fewer joints they give a bold, continuous surface, and the veining can be matched to run across a whole wall. We guide owners on slab sizes and how they fit the room before anything is ordered.
The tanking and the falls matter more than anything people see. We set the gradients and the waterproofing at the start, so the finished surface performs as well as it looks.
Baths
In a larger villa bathroom, a bath can be the centrepiece. A freestanding bath near a window turns an ordinary room into somewhere people choose to spend time, and La Nucía’s hillside outlook gives owners a reason to place one with care.
Fitting a freestanding bath is not just a matter of delivery. The floor must carry the weight, the waste and supply need to reach the right point, and the taps, whether floor-standing or wall-mounted, need to be roughed in at the correct stage.
We would rather talk through whether a bath is right for how you use the house than fit one that goes unused. For some owners, a second bathroom with a bath and a main one with a shower is the better split.
Planning
If the villa has more than one bathroom, we can plan the sequence so there is always a working one. Phasing also lets you spread the cost over time while keeping a consistent design across the house.
Common materials and fittings across bathrooms help the property feel coherent, and they simplify repairs later. We keep a clear record of what has been specified in each room.
Where other work is planned, such as air conditioning, windows or a kitchen, we can coordinate it with the bathrooms so that trades are not working over each other’s finished surfaces.

We visit the property, look at each bathroom you want to change and talk through the design. A written quotation follows, and the quotation is free. If there are several rooms, we suggest an order of work.
For each bathroom, the sequence is strip-out, plumbing and electrics, waterproofing, tiling, plastering, installation and decoration. You receive updates by phone and photographs, and the work is guaranteed within the scope of the quotation.

Yes. We can do them together or in phases, and we plan the order so the house stays usable.
It depends on how you use the room. A walk-in shower is the most common change, but if you want to keep a bath we can fit a freestanding or built-in one and redesign the layout around it.
Where it is wanted, yes. Underfloor heating is easiest to fit while the floor is open, so it is best decided at the design stage.
