Villas on La Nucía's hillsides tend to have generous bedrooms, so the question is less how to squeeze storage in and more how to organise a lot of it well, especially in a house that stands empty between visits.
Much of La Nucía is made up of villas on inland slopes, in estates where each house has its own plot. Bedrooms there are usually larger than a coastal flat's, often with an en-suite and a wall that could hold storage from end to end. That opens up options that small apartments simply cannot offer.
A big run of wardrobe is also a big surface for dust. In homes that are closed for months, clothing stored in an unplanned cupboard can pick up a musty smell or a film of fine dust. Good design includes doors that close tightly, sensible ventilation and interior layouts that make airing easy.

Villa bedrooms
A spacious bedroom can take a continuous wall of hinged or sliding doors, but doing so without planning leaves some sections unreachable or half empty. We divide the run into zones: long hanging, short hanging, shelving and drawers, so each metre has a job.
If the room is large enough, a dressing area behind the bed head, or beside the en-suite, creates a quiet spot to dress without clutter on show. It needs a door, light and a short walk to the en-suite, and we draw the options out for you.
Ceiling height is often generous in villas, which is useful. Tall units can include a second tier of storage reached by a small step, and a lighting strip can run along the top to make the whole wall glow gently.
Empty months
Many La Nucía villas are second homes, shut for weeks or months. Clothes left in such a house need air to circulate, so we plan small gaps and vents at the back and base, and avoid boards that behave badly in changing humidity.
Think about what stays and what travels. Some owners leave a wardrobe of casual clothes and linen in the villa, while others keep only guest bedding. Planning a few deep drawers and a generous top box makes it easy to leave things in order.
Door finish deserves a thought too. Dust shows on gloss and dark colours far more than on a matt, mid-tone surface. Samples come with us on the visit, and we explain which choices are easiest to keep clean when you only visit briefly.
Upgrades
Villas built in the housing boom often came with standard wardrobes: laminated boards, thin shelves and doors that stick after a few summers. Many owners are happy with the room itself but dislike what has aged around it, and want it brought up to date.
We can renew only the doors and the interior and keep the structure, or remove the whole thing and build a better unit in the same spot. At the survey we check the wall behind and tell you which option makes sense for the condition and your budget.
If you are updating the whole bedroom, we can coordinate painting, floor tiling and electrics with the carpentry, so the finished room looks as though it was designed together rather than patched in stages over several years, which also saves repeated disruption.
How it works
We visit the villa, measure every wall and note where the sockets, air-conditioning units and lights sit. A chat about who sleeps in the room, how often it is occupied and what lives in the cupboards then guides the whole design.
You receive a written quotation, free of charge, listing every door, shelf and drawer. Once approved, the pieces are built and a fitting date agreed. Owners who are away get photographs at each stage and can settle small changes by message.

Often yes, if there is a spare corner, an adjoining small room or enough bedroom space to partition. We draw the layout, explain the effect on light and airflow, and include any building work in the same written quotation.
We design for airflow with vents, a clear space at the back and boards that cope with changing humidity. No cupboard replaces airing, but a well-planned unit makes it easier, and we suggest simple habits for when you leave.
Yes, if the structure behind is sound. Fresh doors and a re-planned inside cost less and cause less mess than a full rebuild. We check the frame and wall at the survey and say honestly which route suits.
Yes. We survey the villa, agree the design with you by video call or email, and send photographs as the work progresses. Many of our customers manage projects exactly this way from another country, and it works well.
