Rewiring and electrical upgrades for Polop’s older village houses and the villas on its surrounding hillsides.
Polop is a small inland village, and its older houses tell you something about the electrics before you open the board. Thick walls, small rooms and layouts that have evolved over generations mean the wiring often has been extended and altered many times.
Beyond the village core, hillside villas offer a different picture: more space, more outdoor equipment and more demand on the supply. Both kinds of home are common here, and both benefit from a clear plan.

Older houses
In an old house, a rewire is more than a technical exercise. Walls may be solid and uneven, ceilings low and floors at different levels, so every cable route has to be thought through.
We prefer to do it in step with any other renovation, so channels are cut once and covered neatly. If the house is being restored, we plan the electrics alongside plastering, floors and joinery.
Where a full rewire is not needed, a staged approach works: board first, then the circuits that matter most, with the rest scheduled for later.
Adding modern comforts
Owners often want to keep a house’s character while adding comforts it was never built for. Air conditioning, an induction hob or a larger water heater all need supply that an older installation may lack.
Rather than overloading what is there, we assess the capacity and add dedicated circuits as required. Often this can be done discreetly, with visible work kept to a minimum.
If the existing board is the limit, replacing it is generally the sensible first step.
Hillside villas
Villas on the slopes around Polop tend to have terraces, gardens and often pools. External sockets, lighting along steps and paths, and pool supply should all be designed together.
Exposure to sun and rain means outdoor cable and fittings need appropriate protection, and routes that avoid being damaged by later garden work.
We aim for a result that is simple to understand, so a gardener, pool engineer or future owner can see what is what.
How it works
We visit the house and look at the board, the cabling that is visible and the way the building is put together. For older houses this tells us a great deal about what will be involved.
