Benissa has old town houses, country fincas and villas by the coast, and each one wants a different kind of kitchen.
Fincas are the properties people most often ask us about here. They are usually large, solidly built and a long way from square, and the kitchen tends to be the room where old and new meet. Keeping the character of the house while giving it a kitchen that works properly is the whole brief.
In the old town the houses are narrower and taller, and the kitchen is more likely to be a modest room that needs clever planning. Coastal villas, meanwhile, are closer to the standard pattern, with scope for larger layouts.
Whichever you own, one team handles the design, the fitting, the plumbing, the electrics, the tiling and the finishing.
Fincas
A finca kitchen often occupies a big room with a high ceiling and rough or uneven walls. We can fit units against those walls with bespoke carpentry, or build the kitchen as a freestanding arrangement away from them.
Services in rural houses vary widely. Water pressure, drainage and electrical capacity all need checking, and it is better to find a limitation at the survey than halfway through the job.
Materials matter too. Timber, stone-effect tiles and warm colours sit comfortably in these houses, while still giving you a thoroughly modern working kitchen.
Old town and coast
In an old town house, planning is about using every wall sensibly. Tall units, a compact run of base cabinets and good lighting can make a small room work well.
Coastal villas allow a more open arrangement. Many owners now want the cooking area to be part of the main living space, which means thinking carefully about extraction and noise.
In both cases the tiling is chosen alongside the units, so splashback, floor and cabinet colours agree.
Whole-house thinking
Many Benissa clients are renovating the whole house, with the kitchen as the largest single item. In that case the kitchen can be folded into a wider programme with bathrooms, windows, doors and decoration.
Our renovation, carpentry and plastering teams work from the same office, so there is no need to coordinate separate firms.
If you only want the kitchen done, we are equally happy to treat it as a standalone job.
How it works
The process starts on site. We measure, look at the walls, floor and services and talk through what you want. A drawing and written quotation follow, free of charge, and supplier visits let you handle the materials.
One project manager then runs the programme in English or Spanish, with photographs and calls for owners abroad. The work is guaranteed within the scope set out in the quotation.

Yes. Fincas are a regular part of our work. We use bespoke units where walls are irregular and check the water, drainage and electrical supply before design is settled.
We do. These are smaller rooms, so the design focuses on storage and light, and we plan access carefully.
