Microcement Benidorm

Most Benidorm homes are flats in tall blocks, where access, noise and neighbours shape the job as much as the finish. We plan microcement around the building, so a small bathroom or hall can be done tidily and on time.

Seen from the beach, Benidorm is a wall of towers, and behind those facades are thousands of compact apartments. Bathrooms there are often small, tiled floor to ceiling in the style of a past decade, and a seamless finish can make them feel noticeably larger and brighter.

A flat on the fourteenth floor is not a villa with a driveway. Materials come up in the lift, work is limited to the hours the community allows, and the person below may not be pleased by sanding at the wrong time. We find out the building rules before booking dates.

Plenty of owners here let their flat to visitors, or spend only part of the year in it. They want a finish that wipes clean in minutes and looks fresh between guests. We explain how microcement behaves under that treatment, and where plain tile is still the smarter choice.

Compact bathrooms

Making Small Flat Bathrooms Feel Bigger

A typical apartment bathroom has a bath or shower tray, a basin and perhaps a laundry corner. Running one continuous tone over walls and floor removes the visual chopping-up that grout lines create, and the room reads as a single space rather than a grid of small squares.

Many flats here still have older ceramic tiles, often from the original build. If they are sound, the coating can sometimes be applied over them, avoiding breaking out a wall that may be shared with a neighbour. We test for hollow tiles and damp patches before saying yes.

Where a bath is being swapped for a walk-in shower, the plumbing and waterproofing come first, and the surface is finished afterwards. Because we coordinate those trades ourselves, the order stays correct and nobody needs to chase a separate plumber.

Building rules

Working Inside a Tall Block

Before a date is fixed, we check what the community permits: working hours, lift protection, where rubble and packaging can go. Bags of material and tubs of sealer are carried up in the lift, and the lift, landing and entrance are protected so the neighbours see a tidy operation.

Sanding between coats creates fine dust, so we seal doorways, cover furniture and clean as we go. The job is noisier at some stages than others, and we try to put the loudest tasks into the middle of the day, not early or late.

If the flat is let out, we aim to finish in a quiet spell between bookings and tell you honestly how many days the curing needs. A floor that is walked on too soon marks, so we will not hand it back before it is ready.

Rental use

Holiday Lets and Heavy Use

Rental flats get suitcases dragged across floors, wet towels dropped and cleaning done quickly with whatever is nearest. A sealed, joint-free surface copes well with wiping, but the sealer does wear faster with that routine and may need refreshing sooner than in a private home.

We suggest practical details: felt pads under furniture, a mat inside the shower door, and a short list of suitable cleaners to leave for whoever cleans between guests. Written notes like that save more damage than any clever product.

If you want a very hard-wearing floor throughout a rental, we will talk through the alternatives as well. Porcelain tile is a perfectly sensible answer for some entrance areas, and microcement can be used on walls and bathrooms where it shines.

How it works

How a Microcement Job in Benidorm Works

We measure the flat, look at the existing tiles and ask the community administrator about working rules where needed. A written quotation lists the areas, finish and sequence, with samples to hold against your own light.

Once dates are agreed, the job runs room by room. If you are in the UK or elsewhere, we send photos after each stage, and the same project manager is on the phone throughout. At the end we explain care and leave you a note of what was used.

Questions

Microcement Benidorm — Common Questions

Can microcement be applied in a small Benidorm bathroom?

Yes, and small rooms often benefit most, since the continuous surface makes them feel larger. We check the walls, the floor and the waterproofing first, and tell you whether going over the existing tiles is sensible.

Will the community let you work in my Benidorm flat?

Most buildings allow interior work within set hours. We ask about those rules and lift protection before fixing dates, and we keep the landing and lift clean. Where the community needs paperwork, we tell you what to expect at the survey.

Is microcement a good choice for a holiday-let flat?

Often for bathrooms and walls, with care. It wipes clean easily, but the sealer wears with heavy cleaning. We suggest suitable cleaners and, for busy entrance floors, may recommend a tougher alternative.

How much disruption should I expect in an apartment?

Some dust and noise at the sanding stages, which we contain with sheeting and regular cleaning. Because several coats must dry, the room is out of use for longer than a repaint. We give you a realistic programme in writing.
